A 2000-year-old civilization exists in Sri Lanka that predates the events of the Mahabharata.
A culture from so long ago must have had complex food that challenges the palate and left you craving more. Yet because to influences from other civilizations, Sri Lankan food more than lives up to these standards. Being the largest producer and exporter of spices in the world, the Sinhalese handle their seasoning with the utmost care.
They are well known for their spicy mace, sweet cinnamon, hot peppercorns, tamarind, cloves, nutmeg, and other spices. The food prepared by the local women is delicious. Sri Lankan street food is known for its hand-picked masalas, an abundance of richness and taste, and a topping of opulent meat and slow-cooked vegetables.
